Have you ever been to Tanglewood Nature Center?
Located on the top of Harris Hill in Big Flats, I can remember going ever since I was a little girl. I know I had (at least!) one field trip there during my elementary school days, and being much too afraid to pet their resident tarantula. Besides that, though, it’s basically a neat place where you can go to learn about animals and nature, take a hike, or relax in the quiet of the woods.
They have a network of several hiking trails, and while it’s not anything quite as exciting as, say, hiking the gorge in Watkins Glen or Ithaca, it’s a perfect walk if you want to just enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods. Today was cloudy and dreary, with just a hint of rain here and there. Since I love most types of weather, I decided it would be a perfect day for a nice hike at Tanglewood, and I knew I could get some neat photos while I was there. At the end of this post, you can find the link to Tanglewood’s website.
Here are some of the best results from today’s venture.
Tanglewood does everything from field trips, to birthday parties, and more. It’s basically a staple in my area of the Finger Lakes – everyone knows about it and has probably been there. 🙂 If you want to take a trip for yourself, visit their website at tanglewoodnaturecenter.com for all of the information you might need.
