I love to attend music nights at various venues around the Finger Lakes with my friends. It’s such a fun time, and I got thinking – there needs to be an easy place to find different music nights going on for each night of the week – and where they’re located. That’s why I’m doing all the legwork for you with this post: I’m going to find as many as I can and put them right here! If you have any you think I should add, let me know and I’ll continue updating this post throughout the summer.
Do note that this is primarily a summer list – although many of the locations have music all year round, most are just during the summertime. I will note what dates the events run through, if available.
Summer Concert Series at the Lighthouse – Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum in Sodus Point on Lake Ontario: July 3 – September 4; 2 to 4 pm – While this is technically an afternoon music event vs nighttime, I still thought I should add it for anyone interested. Lots of genres are going to be represented throughout the summer here; jazz, blues, country, Big Band, retro disco, soul, Celtic, and more. Refreshments are available; bring your own seating. No cover charge. sodusbaylighthouse.org
Summer Concert Series – Barnstormer Winery in Rock Stream: Now to August 9; 5:30 to 7:30 pm – Barmstormer has fun live music throughout the summer, with cheese boards and wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks to wet your appetite for…food trucks! Various food trucks rotate each week, so be sure to bring some money (and a hungry stomach!) for that. The crowds are usually on the smaller side, which is perfect for those of you who would love to come out, but don’t want to have to zig zag through a lot of people the whole night. Corn hole is also available for some fun on the lawn. No cover charge. barstormerwinery.com.
Wednesday Night Music Series – Ventosa Vineyards in Geneva: June 1 – September 28; 6 to 9 pm – wine, beer, and cocktails are available. Cafe Toscana serves seasonal menu items and daily specials until 9. Local artists are featured and genres include primarily jazz, soul, R&B, rock, and country, all depending on the week. No cover charge. ventosavineyards.com
Nautie Summer Nights – Lucas Vineyards in Interlaken: June 23 – August 11; 6 to 8:30 pm – each Thursday night features a different artist and a different genre; there’s everything from country, to classic rock, oldie’s, and more. Enjoy wine, beer, slushies, and BBQ. No cover charge. lucasvineyards.com
Summer Concert Series – Deer Run Winery in Geneseo: June 2 – September 1; 6 to 8 or 9 pm – enjoy wine, wine slushies, and various food vendors throughout the summer during Deer Run Winery’s concert series. A wide variety of bands will be playing, with a large range of genres. Three of the concerts throughout the summer will be benefit concerts, and while they’re still free, there will be a donation taken up for the respective causes. Bring your own chair. No cover charge. deerrunwinery.com
Live at the Oasis – Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards in Hector: Now – August 26; 5:30 to 8:30 pm – Hazlitt has a special outdoor pavilion dedicated to fun events like their weekly music nights. Drinks, BBQ, bread baskets, snacks, and wine slushies abound at this fun evening party. Music genres vary, so there’s something for everyone. Tip: lots of people stop here first, then head to Wagner afterwards – they’re right down the road! No cover charge. hazlitt1852.com
Pub Nights on the Brewdeck – Wagner Vineyards in Lodi: July 8 – September 2; 6 to 11 pm – Wagner’s own wine and beer is available for the drinking, as well as root beer, grape juice, water, and other drinks for those who don’t want alcohol. Picnic-style dinners are available from the on-site Ginny Lee Café from 6-8, and pizza is available for purchase beginning at 8. All sorts of genres will be played throughout the summer, so pick a date and put your dancing shoes on! $3 cover charge. wagnervineyards.com
Live Music at Grist Iron Brewing Company in Hector – year-round – Grist Iron actually has a lot of live music scattered throughout the week, but I’ve found that the most common days tend to be Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in the evening/night. It’s a big variety of local bands, and I’ve personally been to a few music nights here and always enjoy it. During the summer, they open their doors up to the outside patio and the band plays there – it’s always fun. To get a feel for what genres are represented, this week there’s a folk/country/blues singer, a rock and roll group, and a blues and jazz group that combines a bunch of genres. Something for everyone. No cover charge. gristironbrewing.com.
Live Music at The Village Marina in Watkins Glen – Now – September 3 – The Village Marina also has live music on various weekend nights, so check the ‘entertainment’ tab on their website for a full schedule. Summer nights really are a lot of fun here – they are located right on the shores of Seneca Lake, and the band actually plays on a big deck they have out over the water near all of the boat in the harbor. There’s usually quite a crowd, so it’s a really lively, fun atmosphere. No cover charge. village-marina.com.
Don’t forget, if you have any wineries/breweries/other venues that host live music during the summer, drop me a comment and I’ll look into adding them to the list!
